Already May?!

So it's official that it will most likely take me 2 weeks to publish a new post..I hope to get better about that eventually, especially now that we have our computer issue solved. It's just taking me a while to find much spare time with two little ones in tow. I will get the hang of it eventually!

I hope all the mothers out there had a happy mother's day yesterday! My kiddos spoiled me rotten and I was pleased to have a "diaper-free" day thanks to papa. It warmed my heart to hear Sophie tell me all day long "Happy Mother's Day mama!" Her vocabulary continues to grow and grow and she shocks us with some of the sentences she puts together. We can't believe it's already May and she will be in 2 in just about 2 weeks! Trust me, she's grasping the concept of her birthday this year and she sings the birthday song just about every day. She also talks about how she will have cupcakes on her birthday (mental note to self to remember to bake those!) and how papa will have a cake on his (just 2 days later -- guess I need to brush up on my baking skills!).

We survived our first week at home just the three of us last week, with Kris back at work. I was completely exhausted but will honestly say the week flew by in a blur of diapers and spit up! It's amazing the things we forget about newborns! Actually, I can't really say newborn anymore as Jack is officially one month old today! In many ways it seems as though the time has flown by, but in other ways I feel like he's always been with us since life before him is already hard to remember.

Since the week was a bit of a juggling act I didn't take many pictures last week so I'll try to be better about that now. And since we are transferring things from our old computer to this new one, I'm a bit short of the pictures I did take, but I do have a few to share and will try to have more for the next post! Enjoy!

Sophie trying to figure out if it's possible to sit on her purple ball (thanks Grandma Robin for sharing this picture):

Mr. Jack sleeping the day away, though his night sleeping is getting much better!:
Jack loves to curl in a ball when he's laying on either one of us. It's the funniest thing and I have to assume it's how he was in my tummy:
He has eyes, I promise! He's getting much better with staying awake for longer periods during the day. We think he's getting closer to smiling spontaneously too...we're hoping for it any day now and fingers crossed that I'll have my camera near by when it happens!
This is pretty much my typical day....when one is happy, the other is upset about something. I've quickly learned it's nearly impossible to take a pleasant picture of them both at the same time!
At any rate, we're slowly getting a routine down and are closer to having decent sleep at night (it's a day to day work in progress!). We hope you're all well and thanks for staying patient with me and my posts -- I'll get back in to the swing of things soon I hope! There will definitely be a birthday blog in a couple of weeks but I'll try very hard to do one before then! Stay tuned!
