Fun with the Cousins

We just had a visit from my sister and her family. Sophie was thrilled to have her cousins stay with us for the weekend. She had so much fun playing with them, I think it's safe to say she's exhausted and should sleep well all week!

With Sophie the only girl in this crazy group of cousins, I think it's safe to say she'll have many protectors as she gets older.

Here's the crew, Aidan, Jack, Ethan, Brendan and Sophie:

Sophie loves all of her cousins, but she especially loves Aidan -- he's so great with her and he definitely took on the protector role. Plus, he reads to her, which is major points in her world!
Grandma Robin was visiting all of us too and was so helpful with the kiddos. Jack got in some good Grandma bonding time:

Summer fun in the blow up pool - what a blast! Papa/Uncle Kris was a good sport supervising it all:

Grandma, Jack, Aunt Jill, Uncle Brian and Uncle Brandon:
Jack had fun hanging out but was dying to be big enough to splash around in the pool with the bigger kids!
Jack playing with Aunt Jill....yes, "Jack and Jill..."
Big kid fun in the spa with Uncle Kris!
Brendan was our helper cleaning up outside -- and yes, his shirt says "Future President" :)

What a great weekend we had! Thank you Anderson family for making the trip down to see us!

Here are a few more pictures I took before our visitors came. Sophie is paying more and more attention to Jack and has become very loving with him. It's just too cute for words. Here are my two babies:
Jack is becoming more aware of his surroundings and loves his squeaky giraffe:
Sophie has made the big transition to the big kid table! She's done pretty well, though she has learned the hard way she can't squirm around in her seat anymore (she fell out of the chair and split her lip the other day!). Now she sits still ;)
Sophie has also started her first dance class! It's a ballet/tap combo class for 2-3 year olds and she LOVES it. It's the funniest thing to watch and I am so proud of her. Here she is, excited to head out to her first class:
With her tap shoes on and the butterfly stamp they gave her at class:
This week we'll be relaxing a bit and then we'll pile in the car and take our first road trip with both Jack and Sophie. We're heading to Avila Beach and some central coast fun for our 5 year wedding anniversary! Stay tuned for pictures!
