4 months

Hello again! Just wanted to post a quick update now that Jack is officially 4 months old.

He's constantly thinking he's bigger than he is and I can just tell he can't wait to get down and run around with Sophie. Sophie is really enjoying playing with him more and more now. In the picture below you can see her laughing after giving him her Barbie and all he wanted to do was chew on Barbie's hand:
Anyway, we went in for Jack's 4 month check up on Friday. Normally we schedule the kids' doctor appointments on Kris' Fridays off (his work schedule gives him every other Friday off) but this time around it didn't work out, so I held my breath taking both kiddos in with me for Jack's check up and second round of immunizations. I was beaming ear to ear when I walked out of there with 2 super well behaved babies and a nice compliment from the doctor on how good the children are. (Phew!)
Jack is 25 inches long now, and quite the tall baby -- he's in the 70th percentile for height. Sadly, he's dropped quite a bit in weight and is only 14 pounds and only in the 30th percentile. I've briefly mentioned this before, but we've had a feeling all along that there might be a problem because the kid spits up so much! This has been ever since he was born but at his 2 month check up the doctor didn't seem too concerned, and neither were we since he's such a happy baby. I cut back on his feedings a little bit to see if that would help, but it didn't make too much of a difference. I never took him in regarding the spit up as its own issue because it's never consistent (meaning some days are horrible and other days are "normal") and he's not usually fussy while spitting up, and usually never fussy while eating. That said, the doc confirmed Jack has reflux and in another month or so we will start giving him a teaspoon of rice cereal after each feeding to help keep his milk down. He said he should grow out of it and once we start solids things should get a lot better. Fingers crossed! In the meantime, we will just continue to duck when he gets that look in his eye and we'll keep the washing machine is on a constant cycle!
Other than the reflux news, I'm so happy to hear Jack is healthy and strong. He's a happy baby, and that's all we can really ask for!
