The past five days have been so much fun in the McFarren house! This blog is a long one, so to keep it down in size, I'll do my best to let the pictures tell the stories.
Papa surprised us all on Tuesday night with FREE tickets to Disneyand for Thursday. So Wednesday evening we drove down to Anaheim to "fight" traffic and stayed near Disneyland so that we could be up and at the park early Thursday AM.
We stopped for a bite to eat after 2 hours in traffic. We were all happy to be out of the car:
Thursday morning we were at Disneyland! We can't thank our family friend enough for hooking us up with the free entry -- and it turned out to be free park-hopper tickets too! Amazing!
We learned from our last visit to first head over to meet the princesses. It was a long wait (45 min) first thing, but it was worth it:
Jack thought so too :)
Small World was definitely the kids' favorite. It was Jack's first ride and he loved it!
Of course we saw all our Disney friends too:
Someone was SO excited the entire day!
Playing at Goofy's house:
Our attempt at a family photo while on the tea cups:
Sophie pretended to be scared while in line for the Haunted Mansion-- this time she really DID get scared though, but handled it pretty well:
Someone was zonked halfway through the day:
Mama and Sophie on Autopia. We were sad we didn't get the pretty purple car:
My favorite picture of the day!
Friday was Sophie's 3rd birthday. We were all pretty worn out from our day at Disneyland but we decided to let her dictate how she wanted to spend the day. She decided to play at the park, so to the park we went!
Jack loves the swings!
It was a cool and windy day on Friday, but perfect for kite flying!
Sophie flew the kite all by herself!
I can't believe she's already 3:
Jack's gift to her was a kiddie pool for them to play in over the summer ;)
And she has her own outside chair now too:
Of course dinner was her choice too, which means we went out for pizza!
And followed that up with cake at home. Believe it or not, when we got home from Disneyland I whipped up a cake from scratch at 10pm. I was a bit tired and added a smidge too much salt -- oops! We had a salty chocolate cake but the kids still seemed to enjoy it!
Saturday was a relaxing day and then Sunday was papa's 32nd birthday! We treated him to a breakfast out and then a relaxing day at home, a nice walk in the park and watched the Indy 500 (at tradition on his birthday).
This time I didn't make the cake but headed to Coldstones for a delicious ice cream cake!
Yum!
We had such a fun family weekend. It's hard to believe my little babies are growing up so fast. We sure do enjoy our little family :)
Hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend!

Looks like a ton of fun. Happy Birthday to Kris and Sophie!
