McFarren Family Christmas

Hi everyone! Apologies for the delay in posts. As I mentioned in the last posting, Sophie and I have been away for a week helping to take care of Grandma Robin. My mom had a full knee replacement almost 2 weeks ago now. For anybody who knows her, you'll know she is a very strong woman and won't be surprised to hear that her recovery is going very well! Sophie and I were very happy that we were able to be there for a week to help her out. The only hard part is that we were away from papa for the first time. Needless to say, he received huge smiles, hugs and kisses when he came home from work on Friday (from both of us!).

Since we are heading back to Pismo in just a few days, and from there to San Jose, we decided to have our own little McFarren Christmas celebration this weekend so we don't have to cart all of the gifts with us. We have a sneaking suspicion we might be fully loaded with plenty of baby gifts from both families, so we're trying to make sure we have plenty of room in our little SUV. That said, Sophie had her first glimpse of what Christmas is all about!

Ooooh, what is this shiny paper?

Sophie just learned who Mickey Mouse was at Grandma's house last week, and the timing couldn't be more perfect. She loves her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse books! (Mostly to chew on for now...)

Mama and Papa decided to get her her very own exersaucer since she loves her cousin Brendan's so much:

It's a huge hit!
Tonight we're planning to take her to look at Christmas lights while it's clear, since it's supposed to rain in the next couple of days.

Since we had back to Pismo on Wednesday morning, I doubt I'll have time to get in another post tomorrow or Tuesday with all of the baking, cleaning and packing I still have to do! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas! We'll be back after the New Year, so check back then!
