Almost 8 Months

Hello again! I'm happy to say we survived the very wet and very rainy week! It was great to see sunshine this morning! We were very happy to be able to get out of the house a bit with the break in the rain too...although we were making the best of our indoor activities, Sophie and I were beginning to get cabin fever!

Here's a picture of Sophie watching the rain a few days ago and itching to get out and play in it! I love this picture because you can see her excitement in the reflection in the window:

Even though the rain stopped today, it was still blistering cold (for us LAers anyway...). Here's papa and Sophie bundled up, cuddled together (yes, we realized later that Kris' sweatshirt was inside out...):
We can't believe Sophie will be 8 months old on Monday. Time just won't slow down no matter how much we want it to. She's looking more and more like a little girl each day.
I couldn't resist snapping this picture of her today. It's what I like to call "typical Sophie." As you can see, she's working so hard on trying to grow hair -- right now it's in a funky stage and all it does is stick out in every direction! This morning it was especially crazy and we were calling her "Doc" (from Back to the Future). It's also "typical Sophie" because she has become quite the finger sucker -- not thumb -- finger. And it has to be two at once, usually with her right hand:
She's still working hard on cutting teeth, but nothing yet! Despite the lack of teeth, we're trying to keep up on her variety of solid foods and snacks. She's still a great eater and we'll usually try to have her test small bites off our plates (depending on what we're having). She's always curious to taste new things, so I think that's a good thing?
Today we figured to honor her 8th month we'd bust into a toy we'd been holding on to since before she was born! Here she is in the "riding" mode (she's still a little shakey for using it as a walker):
I have a feeling mama and papa will get a good workout pushing her back and forth down our hall!We hope you're all enjoying your weekends! Check back again soon!

  1. Yeah, she's finally big enough to play with the walker!! Landon loved his :-) Once he was old enough to figure out he could place items in the "trunk" we always found odd things in there...raisens, rocks, blocks...she's getting so big and cuter by the day!
