Griffith Park Observatory

Hello again. It's hard to believe, but I've lived in LA half my life and, until yesterday, I'd never been to the Griffith Park Observatory (that I can remember, anyway). Kris and I have been wanting to go for quite some time, and we decided to take our first trip with Sophie. Of course, she's still too little to completely understand what it's about, and definitely too small to risk a planetarium show, but she enjoyed the beautiful weather and amazing view!
For all she knew, this was just a really cool place with a ton of grass to run around on!
"No mom, don't embarrass me with a 'tourist' pose in front of the Hollywood sign!"
Kris and I estimated she got about a mile in for exercise with all of the running around she did.
My favorite picture from yesterday -- and yes, it includes the Hollywood sign :)
We have a full 5-day week ahead of us. We've been spoiled with "shorter" weeks with Kris home more because of some vacation time and the Labor Day holiday. I'll be honest and say that Sophie has been challenging us a bit lately. She's just asserting her independence, which is obviously normal for her age, and we're trying to adjust with how to handle her new behavior. We're focusing on how to teach her "please" and "thank you" and encouraging her to use words rather than just grunt and whine when she wants something. Wish us luck :)

Hope you all have a great week!
