Sophie's Secret

Sophie has a secret...
Can you guess what it is?

Yep, that's right! If you haven't yet heard our good news, we are having another baby! I am 12.5 weeks along and feeling better and better each day. This pregnancy has been a lot different than the first. Don't get those wheels turning about how that must mean I'm having a boy -- I don't necessarily believe that to be the case and just think it's different because I have to keep my energy up for a toddler! So I've been feeling a lot more nauseous and VERY tired, but I've been managing and seem to be getting my energy back. The good news is that so far baby and I are both healthy! Here's Baby M2's first portrait. This is from 9.5 weeks gestation:
We have told Sophie about the baby (obviously) and it's one of her new favorite words. She likes to point to my tummy and say "baby!" and sometimes she even comes over and gives it a kiss (or head-butts it!). We are excited to see how she is as a big sister and I think she will be a big help to mama (hopefully)!

Sophie continues to show us her silly personality. It's so much fun to watch her grow, and I am happy to say I think she's getting her papa's sense of humor.

She still has a huge love for books and I hope this continues. It seems like we read 20 books a day (at least) and sometimes Kris and I feel like we're speaking Dr. Seuss language even when she's gone to bed at night.
It amazes me how quickly time flies and how when I look at her now I see a little girl and not my little baby!
I'll send this blog on a fun little video that shows off her silliness I mentioned above. Her new favorite game is emptying one of her toy bins and walking around with it on her head. I managed to grab the tail end of it the other day. If you watch the entire thing and listen closely in the end you can hear her attempts at saying "hi" and "bye bye."

Have a great week and Happy October everyone!
