I was away this weekend attending a grand opening ceremony in San Jose for the Casa Grande. This is a historical museum to which several pieces of my late grandmother's furniture had been donated. I was happy I was able to be there for my family and honor my grandma. Kris and I made the decision that with all the traveling we have done (and are about to do) that he would stay home and be on "daddy duty" with Sophie.

Unfortunately, he had his hands full as Sophie is not only still struggling with teething (she cut 3 teeth on her left side last week, and today I felt her lower molar on her right side cutting) but we think she's battling a cold on top of it (all 3 of us have been fighting this pesky bug!).

They managed well enough, but I know papa was happy to have mama come home today and help with managing the currently fussy toddler we have on our hands... It made me feel good to hear him say he has a new respect for what I do every day while he's at work ;)

Last week was all about distracting Sophie from her discomfort. We pulled out all toys (old and new) and she rediscovered her love for her Sesame Street songbook. For those of you who know our little one's personality, you can tell in the video below that she's not feeling well because she's a little slower and tamer than usual when hearing some of her favorite songs over and over.

We hope you all enjoy your week! I'll try to post again before we leave next weekend for our Thanksgiving break.
