February in a Nutshell

Hello! I'm so sorry for the delay in blog posts. As you can imagine, we've been quite busy with the move and all of the other fun activities going on in between. This will be mostly a blog through pictures.

We received our keys to the new house on my birthday -- what a great present! That same day, Kris and Sophie informed me they were taking me to Disneyland to celebrate (one last time before baby boy makes his appearance). We spent the morning doing a few last minute things for the new place and then headed down to Anaheim where papa and Sophie took me to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory!

The next morning we woke up and headed to Disneyland!
Since this was Sophie's second time going, and she was a bit older, we decided to "meet the princesses." Belle is one of Sophie's favorites and she was so happy to see her. It was adorable because she went right up to her, gave her a hug, and started chatting away!
Sophie was also thrilled to see Minnie at her house again! She gave her a BIG hug and kiss and it was hard to tear her away from her.

It was such a different experience going this time now that she was quite a bit older. She handled standing in line pretty well and I kept thinking how much she looked like a big girl!:

After Disneyland, we came home and had a full weekend of moving from the old house to the new. Last week went by in quite a blur. We were blessed to have my mom come to stay with us for several days to help us unpack and get settled before we had 20+ family and friends over for our baby shower this past weekend. As you can imagine, we were quite exhausted, which means I didn't take quite as many pictures as I'd hoped. That said, everything came together and I have to thank my mother for a beautiful shower for "Little Man McFarren."

Sophie has done a great job transitioning to the new house, and even handled the celebration for baby brother really well. She enjoyed having Grandma Robin stay with us last week, and was happy to have more visitors in Grandpa Glenn, Grandma Suzie and Tia and Tio.

We are spending our time this week relaxing and unwinding from the whirlwind of the past few weeks! I can't believe March is right around the corner, which means April will be here before we know it (meaning baby boy will be too!). Sophie's latest thing is saying "baby brother's heartbeat goes boom boom boom!" She went with my mother and me to my last doctor's appointment on Friday and she was extremely excited to hear baby boy's heartbeat again. As a quick update, all is healthy and I am measuring right on track, so that's great news! I start seeing the "real doctors" in 2 weeks (as opposed to the nurse practitioner) so this is just a sign that we are getting close! Our next task is to set up his room....so we'll get on that this weekend hopefully...
