Thomas The Train

We had such a fun day yesterday! Not only was it a perfectly beautiful day, but papa had a great idea when he saw Thomas the Train was coming to Filmore, which is only about 20 minutes away from us.  We decided to surprise the kiddos with a family fun day!

Here are our two munchkins, anxiously waiting in line to ride Thomas:

Jack wasn't really sure what the whole fuss was about (there were hundreds of families with the same idea!):

And Kris and I worry that we may have traumatized Sophie with the carousel at Magic Mountain.....she was completely freaked out to get on the train! I received many dirty looks as I grabbed my screaming child and carried her on the train despite her screams of "I don't want to go!!!" Kris and I knew we didn't want her to cave in to this kind of fear since it was not a "scary" ride at all.  We kept telling her it wasn't ride, we were just saying "hi" to Thomas and he's just a train.

 It took a lot of convincing and some tense parenting moments, but as soon as the train started, she realized we were right, it really was just like driving in a car, and it really was a lot of fun :) Phew!

Jack had fun too, but he was easily lulled to a sleepy state with the movement of the train and the beautiful breeze.  His typical "sleepy" signals are fingers in the mouth and pulling on mama's hair:

After the train ride, we braved the crowds with a hay maze:

And Sophie was so proud she was brave enough on the train to receive a Thomas (temporary) tattoo! She was so funny and thought she couldn't move her arm at first (she was worried about it falling off):

We definitely enjoyed our fun family day! I can't believe May is just about here.  It's going to be a crazy month so we will take all the family time we can get! Hope you have a great week!
