Yesterday was Sophie's 2nd dance recital! This time she did a tap routine and was super excited because she remembered everything about her first one and couldn't wait to do it all again.
We had dress rehearsal last week, which provided for some great photo ops. Here she is in her costume before heading to rehearsal:
Being a ham waiting for her turn to rehearse:
Trying to be patient in the chaos of all the kids and parents in the same room:
She's such a silly girl:
And yesterday she was so happy for recital day to finally be here!
Proud mama with her dancer girl:
I was much happier watching my little princess from the audience and not dealing with the chaos of backstage this time around! Unfortunately, since we weren't allowed to use a flash, most of my pictures during the actual recital didn't turn out. The one below was the best. Of course most of the kids just stood and stared and wiggled here and there. Sophie was a little more shy this time because she didn't know where her teacher was (she was on the opposite side of the stage from where she stood last time) so it took her a minute to warm up, and then she got into it!
And here's one more of her excitement with the stage behind her.
Jack was nervous during the show with all the cheers and applause, so he and Papa took a long walk after Sophie's dance and came back in the very end. Hopefully it'll get easier and easier as he gets used to these things ;)
We hope you all enjoyed your weekend and have a great week ahead!
