Independence Week

Hello! We hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July holiday! We had a great week thanks to a visit from Grandma Suzie, Grandpa Glenn, Tia and Tio. It was so nice to have them here for a week and I know they really enjoyed spending time with the kids.

Here they are after Grandma & Grandpa first arrived:

Jack with Grandma:

Sophie loves her Tia:

Both kiddos with Grandpa:

Grandma & Grandpa gave Sophie a princess tent as a belated birthday gift.  The kids love to play in it!  Jack wasn't so sure about entering the pink domain at first:

Sophie loved it:

Jack realizing it's not so bad!

And here's my "Mr. Independent" (though lately it's been quite the opposite as he won't let me out of his sight!).

Sophie helping with the 4th of July decorations:

And helping Tia make recycling and trash signs for the party!

We had the family over to celebrate, and we were so happy it wasn't scorching hot as it is this week! Phew!

Sophie enjoying the party with Tia:

And inside with mama after a bug scare.... let's just hope this is a quick phase -- anytime she sees a bug she freaks out! Needless to say, we don't last outside for long.

This is just a funny picture --- no he didn't actually drink papa's beer, but he sure was curious about it:

While everyone was here for the week, we were also able to finally put up the kiddie pool for the summer!

At first Jack wasn't so sure he liked how cold it was in the water!

Papa even managed to squeeze himself in there:

It didn't take Jack long to see how fun it was to play in the pool:

This was her happy face before she saw the bee fly by:

On top of all the visitors, we also had a nice quick visit from my sister and her boys! Sophie was thrilled to see her cousins! Here she is with Aidan, Brendan and Ethan:

And we managed to squeeze Jack in there AND have them all look at the camera at the same time....miracle!

We just want to say thank you to Grandma Suzie, Grandpa Glenn, Tia & Tio for spending the week with us playing and helping around the house.  We will miss you all!
