SCU 10 Years Later

We're back from a quick weekend to the Bay Area for our 10 Year Reunion at Santa Clara University.  Yesterday was a fun-filled day packed with reunion activities!

We can't believe we graduated 10 years ago.  It was a little surreal taking this picture of our two kids in front of the mission on the campus where we first met and in front of the church where we were married!

We had a great time meeting up with our friends for the reunion picnic.  The kids are always so excited to see and meet some of the people they always hear us talk about.  Jack especially seemed to be taken with our friend Patrick.  He'd just met him, but had no problem giving him a big hug and then trying out his cool sunglasses for a bit:

The university did a great job providing plenty of entertainment for the kiddos.  They each received balloon animals (which of course both popped before we even got to the car) and got to play with real animals in the little petting zoo that was set up.  Jack was very fond of the baby goat.  I think he liked that he was the same size as him.  He kept petting him and tapping him on the bottom and laughing about it.

The goat was more taken with Sophie's necklace:

Back to campus with my best friends Erin and Kristina!

I was so proud of Sophie for trying some of the bigger kid activities.  In the past she's been nervous about "bouncy" houses.  Here she climbed up to the top of the big slide with pops and had a blast sliding down in his lap!

And she literally jumped right into the bronco bouncy house all by herself! She had such a good time, she was in tears when we told her it was time to leave the picnic.

Last night we had our reunion dinner party.  It was great seeing many old faces, though I'll be honest and admit there were a lot I'd forgotten or didn't even recognize anymore! But it was very special to have quality time with our close-knit group of friends.

And of course, Kris and I always appreciate a date night when we can get it :)

While we were enjoying reunion time, the kids were entertained by Tia, Tio, Aunt Jen and Uncle Kurtis.  Grandma Suzie and Grandpa Glenn had also found some old toys and brought them out for their enjoyment.  Here they are riding the horse that used to be Kris' favorite:

Jack was having so much fun running all around Grandpa's backyard:

A soccer star in the making?

Sophie was just having fun chasing bubbles and throwing leaves:

Here's Tio making Jack laugh with the Halloween cat:

And Sophie trying to read to Tia:

We had a great weekend and once again thank Grandma, Grandpa, Tia, Tio, Aunt Jen and Uncle Kurtis for all of their hospitality and help with the kiddos! Unfortunately Sophie woke up sick this morning, with what is hopefully just another cold, but we had a bit of a long drive home with a cranky 3 year old and I imagine that means it will be a rough week ahead! Wish us luck!
