11 Months!

Today is Sophie's 11 month birthday! It's hard to believe that in just one more short month we will have a 1 year old on our hands.

This past month brought so many new developments, it feels like we are on lightning speed with how quickly she's changing. She is now working on cutting her 4th tooth! Yes, that's right, 3 teeth have cut through her gums (her 2 bottom middle and top left-middle). All 3 are still working on coming into place, but they are definitely visible. I will work on trying to get a picture where you can see them, but it's a bit of a challenge!

I've also started referring to her as "Sophie the Explorer" because she cannot sit still anymore and loves to crawl everywhere and explore everything (we now keep our bathroom doors closed at all times) . Here she is digging through mama's purse (aka her diaper bag):

The stairs are child's play to her now. She probably climbs them at least 10 times a day:
Once she's upstairs, she has to explore EVERY room. Here she is in our guest room:
And playing with the mirror in her room -- always lots of fun!
And sometimes we mosey into mama and papa's closet to play with papa's shoes and shirts:
I'm guessing her next milestone will be standing independently, though we're still working on that. She's a lot more confident with standing against something. As you can see in this picture, she doesn't need to use her hands to stable herself (but yes, she uses her belly!):
We are also so amazed with how much she's trying to speak! She has her own little language and is constantly pointing to things for us to tell her what everything is. Her alphabet book is her favorite and we're always impressed with how many things she seems to know. Her new favorite sound is "Sssss" and she'll make it when she turns to the page for "S."
We're wrapping up another nice weekend. We were lucky enough to have Grandma Robin and Grandpa Gordon come down for another visit. This time they were playing babysitters most of the day yesterday since mama and papa had a wedding to go to. Kris and I had a nice date while Sophie loved playing with Grandma and Grandpa!

This coming week will be an exciting one for me. On Thursday I head out to visit one of my very best friends in Florida! I am looking forward to a 4-day weekend of adult time. This will be my first time away from Sophie overnight, and for so long, but I know it's good for us both. Kris will have his hands full as Super-dad, so send him good luck vibes, if you can! I know they will be fine and hopefully not get into too much trouble ;)

I'll end this post with a fun little video I took this week. I didn't think I'd have this problem until she was a teenager!
