Ten Month Teether

Another week has already come and gone. That said, I've been waiting all week for some time to update the blog with our exciting news...Sophie is FINALLY getting her first tooth! Not only did I notice one Monday afternoon (bottom middle-left) which had poked through the gums, but yesterday I saw the one right next to it not far behind (it hasn't cut through yet but looks like it's just about there). And earlier today I was doing a "tooth check" and looked closer at her upper gums and Kris and I can see the outline of about 4 on the top gums! They still have a way to go but after waiting 10+ months it looks like she may get slammed with quite a few at once. As you can tell, I'm very excited about this news because I can feel a little more comfortable moving her on to "big kid" foods. Even though the doctor assured me she's fine eating everything with just her gums, it seems odd to me and I'm feeling more relaxed knowing she's getting teeth.

She continues to try to stand and walk along all of our furniture. She's also managed to climb our entire set of stairs. Don't worry, we follow close behind! I suppose it's good exercise for her, but now I'm just working on teaching her how to go down so we can feel even more secure about having her on the stairs.
Sophie discovered another new toy this week - the diaper box:
She wasn't quite sure what to think when I put her in it and pulled her around in it:
Even though the Easter Bunny brought her her very own Elmo camera, she still prefers to play with mama's:
And here's a quick video clip of our happy baby. I caught her in the middle of a conversation to herself. She's making more and more new sounds every day. This video shows so much of her personality, I just had to share.

We hope you all enjoy your week! We also want to wish Aunt Jen, Grandma Suzie and Grandpa Glenn a safe trip to Boston -- good luck at the marathon Jen!

  1. What a sweetie! I hope that the teeth coming in goes quickly and isn't too painful.
