Happy Easter! We have had a fun-filled weekend! We were lucky enough to have Good Friday fall on Kris' 9/80 work schedule so we have had an enjoyable 3-day weekend.
On Friday we were able to have an early Easter celebration with Grandma Robin, Grandpa Gordon, Uncle Brandon and his girlfriend Katie. We started off the day dying eggs. Sophie was eager to get her hands in all of the dye so we had to hold her back. She was very excited to see what dying eggs was all about.

She was also very excited to have family visiting. She loves Uncle Brandon and has given her 100% approval to Katie because she wears the best jewelry. We were laughing because she spent a good 5 minutes holding Uncle Brandon's watch with one hand and Katie's bracelet with the other:

On Saturday we were able to visit the Easter Bunny!

We also decided to introduce Sophie to what an egg hunt is all about. We hid about 12 plastic eggs around the living room and were shocked how quickly she caught on to the game! Here she is finding some eggs:

She also made another big step in development this past week -- we officially have a cruiser on our hands! She's confident pulling herself up on everything now, and also walks along the couch and coffee table. I'll try snag a quick video of it next week to post, but here's a good shot of her standing and excited that she can now reach the shelf with her Elmo songbook on it...

This morning we dressed Sophie in her new Easter dress and brought her downstairs where she discovered the fun goodies the Easter Bunny brought last night!

We couldn't resist sharing some pictures of our sweet Easter baby:

We also decided that since it was just us this year for Easter, we'd do what we've been dying to do with Sophie for a while now...we headed to the Zoo!! Here are some pictures from our day:
Sophie petting a real Easter bunny:

Posing with mama:

Really, she loved looking at the gigantor tortoises, but she also loved the trees just as much...

Pointing to the "big kitty cat" (aka Tiger...sorry, he didn't make the photo)

Lookin' at the sleeping Lion:

Ooooh...Giraffe!

"Zeee-braa!"

We hope the Easter Bunny treated everyone well this year. Happy Spring! Check back again soon!
