10 months and a cold

What a week. With Sophie turning 10 months this past Thursday, she also caught her first cold. I felt horrible because I am the one who gave it to her! I know, I know, everyone tells me to get used to it and she will repay the favor a million times, but I can't help feel guilty when I look at my snotty-nosed baby. She's been handling it well. I took her to the doctor on Friday just to be safe and to make sure it didn't spread into her ears or lungs. The doctor told me it's just a "small" cold and to give her 10 days to get it out of her system. We feel blessed that this is "just" a cold and her first time being sick, but I'm not looking forward to when she gets something worse because I feel so horrible that there's not a whole lot I can do to make her feel better.

That said, we've had a lot of indoor time this week and have been creative with play time. Sophie has really become a fan of playing ball and she loves to roll the balls back and forth down our front hallway. Kris hopes we have a soccer star in the making (which I realize is odd since neither one of us played soccer) but we'll see what happens.
Part of being sick this week has resulted with her having less energy than normal. She still managed to get around and have fun and trust me, I know she's feeling better today because she was crawling and climbing all over the place this morning!
Her new discovery is the stairs. Don't worry, we keep a close eye on her. It's fun to watch her explore them and use them to get up the courage to stand on her own.

Sometimes playing indoors for days at a time, it can get easy to become bored with the same toys over and over. Not to worry -- one of Sophie's favorite toys is her socks! Here's a quick video clip I couldn't resist sharing because it's too funny. (Sorry it's sideways, I still can't figure out how to rotate a vertical video).

Here's to hoping next week is a much healthier one! We are looking forward to all the fun Easter will bring. Hope you're all well and check back again soon!
