What better way to celebrate his birthday than take him to a Dodger game? Kris stayed home with the kids and I was able to hang out with my parents and brother at the game.
On Saturday we stayed home, played with the kids and took Grandpa out to an Italian birthday dinner. Sophie requested to sit next to the birthday boy.
Grandma and Jack bonded over mashed potatoes (which Jack slyly convinced Grandma to share with him -- and I think he ate most of them before she had a chance).
On Sunday we said goodbye to grandma and grandpa and had a family fun outing. It was our first time taking the kiddos to miniature golf! It was a little warm, so we had a bit of a speed course, which was all they really had the patience for anyway. But it sure was fun!
I love this picture because she looks like she's trying so hard to make sure that ball goes in the hole! Hey golfers out there, how's her form? ;)
For some reason, Jack insisted on flipping the bill up on his hat -- I guess he's our mr. trendy already.
After our morning of golf, we cooled off inside the arcade. Here's Jack "riding" the motorcycle.
And Sophie "driving":
Our family fun day sure did make for one tired little man:
Do you think someone needs a haircut? This is how he woke from his nap:
And in other news...Sophie was supposed to have her first day of preschool yesterday. Unfortunately they cancelled the class and neglected to tell us until we showed up, full of excitement. Needless to say, I had one crushed little girl on my hands and I'm disappointed in myself for my choice in preschools. We are now scrambling to get her in elsewhere, so we hope she'll have a real "first day" very soon. She sure did look cute though, didn't she?
We're having a visit this weekend from Grandma Suzie and Grandpa Glenn. Check back soon for more pictures!
