I have finally given in to what is starting to become tradition in my (Kristi's) family for baby arrivals, and that is to set up a blog with updates, stories and pictures on what will soon be our new addition. My cousins have done this and have set the bar fairly high in terms of entertainment value and frequent updates, so I hope I can somehow match them. I do feel like this is a very useful tool to stay in touch, especially being so far away from so many of you, so please feel free to add this link to your bookmarks or check it out whenever you're bored and want to see what's going on at Chez McFarren :) Before baby comes, I will do my best to update at least once a week and hopefully I can increase those updates after baby (once we're all settled, of course!).
As most of you know, "Baby M" is due to arrive May 28 (one day after daddy's birthday). I have this gut instinct saying that she may not wait that long, but that could just be my first-time parent excitement kicking in. I went to the doctor today and my body is doing everything it should to get ready. I'm officially 38 weeks in, so whenever she's ready to come, she's now officially considered at term, which is a bit of a relief for me. My blood pressure is a little high, so I'm going back tomorrow to keep it monitored, but again, I thnk that's just some of my nerves kicking in.
In the meantime, Kris and I are rushing around doing all we can to make sure we are as "ready" as can be for when she does make her official debut! Many of you have asked about the baby's room. We're proud to say it's officially done!! Here is a video (I hope I'm posting this right)
and for those of you that can't view it, here are a few pictures to give you an idea.
We didn't want anything too"girly" but we also wanted something bright and happy. We're pleased with how it turned out...what do you think?
I love the butterflies. From what I heard, great call on the slider rocker! Good luck! XO!
