She had her first check-up this morning with her Pediatrician. She was given a clean bill of health, which had us both sighing with relief. The only thing is she's dropped a bit of weight -- though this is normal it still has me feeling a little guilty so I'm hoping next time we get that weight up now that we're getting the nursing thing down.
Kris is more concerned about the drop in height! Sophie, who was originally measured in the hospital as 20 3/4in is actually 19 1/4 in! Kris says "So much for the WNBA." No, she didn't shrink, the doctor's office just has a much more accurate way of measuring than the nurses in labor & delivery (apparently).
We are spending our days trying to get ourselves into routine and have been very thankful to Grandma Robin and Grandpa Gordon for their help -- especially Grandma Robin who has been here for over a week in the days leading up to the birth and after. We even had a few visits from Uncle Brandon, who will be seeing (and hearing) much of her this summer.

Sophie definitely knows her family and is excited to meet Grandma Suzie and Grandpa Glenn this weekend! I'm sure we'll have more pictures from that visit. Until then, hope you're all well and I'll try to be better about posting more pictures, life is a bit of a fog right now, but we're enjoying it very much!
Hang in there guys, the first few weeks are pretty rough. Then your body adjusts and it gets better....and don't worry about the weight loss, it's very common for them to drop a few lbs initially...they make it back up in no time!
ReplyDeleteLoving the pictures of her, she's super cute!
Take care and get some rest when you can.
Love, Dustin
Oy...I got tired just looking at Kris' face! On the other hand, you guys seem to be up to the challenge. :) Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteHang in there! The day/night confusion gets figured out pretty quickly! She is so adorable and you guys are doing a fantastic job! Thanks for taking the time to post pictures, even though you are exhausted! :)
