4 Month Check-up

4 MONTH CHECK-UP -- With Sophie turning 4 months old next week, we had her 4 month check-up with the doctor today. As proud parents, we are happy to report another clean bill of health! We should also mention we still have a nice, healthy (aka BIG) baby! She now weighs 14 lbs and 10 ozs and is 25 inches long. Not only has she maintained her 80th percentile in weight, she has also caught up in height, which is also 80th percentile. We're not sure where she's getting this size from! Yes, we all know her momma was a chubby baby, but not a tall one. I'm betting she will slow down growth-wise eventually, but we will see.

As usual, we had lots of questions for the doctor. Mostly I wanted to know if he could confirm our suspicions of teething. But as usual, I was given the "baby's do that" speech and told that it's still too early for teething. My instincts tell me otherwise though, and I firmly believe we have an early teether. We are coping and trying to keep her as comfy as possible, but she is happy as long as she has something in her mouth (usually either her fist or our fingers).
We are happy the weekend is finally here! I am gearing up for a girls' day tomorrow, which means I will be leaving the baby and her papa alone all day long. I'm looking forward to some grown-up time but am also sad to be leaving her for such a long period of time. I know it's good for both of us, and good for papa to have her all to himself too. We'll see what I come home to!We hope you all have a great weekend! Check back again soon.
