Green Eggs and Ham

GREEN EGGS AND HAM-- We hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend! It's been very hot here and we're hoping it starts to cool off soon. We are ready for Fall!

Yesterday Sophie got dressed up to meet some more family for the first time. Cousins Regina, Frank and Ryan all came over to spend the weekend with us. It was Ryan's first time meeting a little baby and the two of them hit it off. He was very thoughtful too and brought Sophie two huge stuffed animals he had won for her at the LA County Fair. What a great cousin! Here's a good picture of the two of them:

Because the weekend has been so hot, Kris and Brandon took Regina, Frank and Ryan down to the pool for the afternoon yesterday. While they were splashing around, Sophie and I stayed home in the air conditioning (we're not ready to dip her in the pool just yet) and attempted to nap. That said, the poor little thing is teething so bad that she just couldn't get comfy enough for her afternoon nap. We can actually see a tooth close to breaking the surface on her bottom gums, so here's hoping she's not in too much discomfort for long.
This morning Sophie was lounging with her papa and discovered his scratchy beard. She couldn't quite figure out what to make of it.
Once that novelty wore off, she decided she wanted to help him read the newspaper (the Sports page, of course).
It got to be a little much for her, so we decided to switch over to a book that's a bit more her speed. We just ordered a bunch of Dr. Seuss books and have been so excited to introduce them to her! She really seems to enjoy them, so I'm hoping her love of books will continue.

Hope you all have a great end to your weekend and a lovely week ahead!
