Labor Day Fun

LABOR DAY FUN -- We are back safe and sound from our road trip to the Bay Area! I am happy to report that Sophie was an excellent traveler. We feel very lucky that my parents are halfway between here and Kris' parents because 2.5 hours is about Sophie's limit in her car seat, so it worked out well that we were able to take a pit-stop with Grandma Robin and Grandpa Gordon on the way there and back home. That said, our longer road trip to Sacramento in October should be interesting....but we won't worry about that right now!

Anyway, Sophie had a great time at Grandma Suzie and Grandpa Glenn's house. Our first night there we got together with a bunch of our college friends, many of whom have started families of their own. It was fun for all of us to get together and catch up and so strange to see how times have changed now that many of us are parents! Here's a group picture (minus the men).
I was so happy because Sophie got to meet one of my best friends who is living in Scotland with her hubby, so it worked out well that she was in the bay area at the same time (though really, it was one of the reasons why we made the trip up!) Sophie was also the only girl baby and seemed to get a kick out of observing the 2 boys. Saturday and Sunday were spent playing with Grandma, Grandpa and the rest of the family! Here she is with her Tia and Tio (Tiffany and Dan):With Grandpa Glenn:And Aunt Jennifer (who really was happy to hold her despite the look on her face!):

Sophie had a great time playing with all her family! Here are some more pictures from her play time at Grandma and Grandpa's:
As you can see, she's getting better control over her hands:
We've also started introducing her to books. I'm happy to report she loves them!
So that's the latest with us. The little munchkin is waking up from her nap so I have to wrap this up now. We hope you all enjoyed your long holiday weekend. Check back again soon!
