Daddy Daughter Time

DADDY DAUGHTER TIME --

I can't believe another weekend has come and gone. We were very lucky this weekend and were able to have daddy to ourselves most of Friday (he came home from work early) so it was almost like a bonus 3-day weekend. Unfortunately the big fires down here made us have a change of plans, so instead of entertaining family at our pool, we ended up on our own and able to get in some much-needed errands. The air quality was just way too awful for anybody, let alone a 3 month old baby, to be outside for long. Luckily the fires are at a safe distance from us, and we hope they stay that way.

On Saturday I was able to get away from some "adult" time at my friend's bridal shower. This meant that Daddy and Sophie had some quality time together for about 3 hours. Here's what happens when I leave him home alone with the baby:
That's right, Sophie got a lesson in watching quality weekend sports, which apparently consisted of a track meet and the Little League World Series. Poor baby! I'm just kidding, I'm sure she had a great time being home with her papa, since she is quite the "daddy's girl."

The other morning, Kris and I looked over to find that our little piglet has learned to scoot herself forward while she lays on her back. I'd put her down on the center of her playmat, and here's where we found her:
I guess I'm going to have to keep a closer eye on her now that she's figured out how to "move"! She definitely seems anxious to get places and I just know once crawling enters the picture we're going to have a baby that's constantly on the move.
This week will be a short week for us as we're taking our very first road trip with the baby. We leave Thursday night and will stop at my parents' place in Pismo Beach for a pit-stop and then will finish our trip on Friday morning to Grandma Suzie and Grandpa Glenn's house. It should be interesting to see how the car ride goes with the little one. Wish us luck!
