BASEBALL BABY -- On Friday Sophie experienced her very first major league baseball game! We spent the weekend celebrating my dad's birthday a week early and Friday kicked off the celebration with a Dodgers vs. Cubs game. Of course Kris would only allow taking the baby to a Dodgers game as long as she was in her A's uniform. Here's a picture of Sophie and Daddy taking in all the sights and sounds of the stadium:

It's absolutely amazing how loud a game is. You don't really think about it until you take an infant who only wants to eat and sleep but all the noise is distracting her from doing those things! Poor little thing! Luckily it was a fast game (and the Dodgers won - yay!) and she really was quite the trooper. That said, Kris and I have agreed that going to a baseball game is next on the list of "things to wait to do for a couple more years" (right under taking an airplane trip).
Needless to say, it was a big night for her and all day yesterday she was quite exhausted.

We took it easy yesterday and spent the time hanging out with Grandma Robin and Grandpa Gordon. Sophie is getting a lot more interactive and it's just so much fun seeing her recognize family.

She's also becoming easily captivated with the silliest things. Yesterday she was entranced by Uncle Brandon's string on his sweater. She was concentrating so hard on figuring out how to get over to it and grab it.

Another piece of news to report is that Sophie has been sleeping really well again. In fact, over the past few days she's slept in 8 hour increments straight, without waking! We're not sure if we've just been completely wearing her out, or if this is a glimmer of what's to come. I'm not getting my hopes up, but will certainly embrace the extra sleep while I can!

We hope you all have a great week! Check back in the next couple of days for more updates...Sophie is 3 months old on Tuesday!
We loved the A's uniform! That was hilarious. And, we are so happy to hear that Sophie is sleeping well. That is great news and we hope she keeps it up.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys had a great weekend. That's a very nice picture of Robin and Sophie. Can't believe she's already 3 months old!
