Since being back from our big trip to Michigan, we had about a day or two of rest before we got ready for some visitors for the end of the week. Sophie was so happy to be back home and was especially happy to see her room and of course, her butterflies. We think she may be on the brink of teething (early, I know) but the volume of drool has definitely increased and she can't seem to stop shoving her hands into her mouth!
On Thursday we were so happy to welcome our best buddies, Erin and Mansour and their dog, Colby for a visit. It was Sophie's first time being around a dog and she wasn't phased at all. Poor Colby was the one who was afraid of her! We were so happy that Erin and Mansour were able to stop by "on their way" as they move from Alaska to Florida. We're not sure when we'll actually get to see them next and were so happy they were able to take the day to visit us and meet Sophie.
We had more visitors on Friday! My Aunt Jenni and cousin Claire were able to make the drive up from San Diego to meet Sophie. It was so great seeing them! Claire also brought her play kitchen that she used when she was little and was nice enough to pass it along to Sophie for when she gets a bit bigger. I already have visions of her "cooking" while I'm cooking.
Other than our weekend visitors, we've been enjoying the "cooler" temperatures. In the evenings we let Sophie have some "air" time to cool off before putting her in her PJs. As you can see in the picture below, she's still maintaining that tummy. We're also trying to get her to start working on sitting up -- she usually lasts about a minute or two before falling to one side.
Yesterday we took her to the park for the first time! We were only there for about 10 minutes or so, but she loved every bit of it!

I can't wait for the temperatures to stay cooler and for her to get a bit bigger so we can enjoy more and more park time! That's the latest with us. We hope you all have a great week. Check back again soon!
