A Fair Weekend

We hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It always amazes me how quickly they seem to go by.

On Saturday the three of us headed over to the Ventura County Fair. It was the first time for all of us, but of course it was Sophie's first Fair, ever. It was a bit cloudy and cool, which was a nice relief from the heat we've been getting in our little valley.

We had a great time! Sophie loved looking at all the sights, and of course seeing a ton of animals again. There were so many pigs! She loved getting up close to have a good look:
After the Fair, we walked over to the beach. We decided to slowly let her explore the beach, so this first time was just an introduction. Next time (when it's warmer) we'll go all out with the swimsuits and sand castles. I have a feeling she will love it, considering it was tough to pull her away this time!

She is getting better and better about her independent walking, and was even doing well on the sand:
"Papa, I can't see the water with your hat on!"
"Ooooohhh, this stuff is so fun to play with!....I wonder what it tastes like?..."
On Sunday morning I finally took my camera out for what is a weekly event with Sophie and papa....coupon clipping! Sophie LOVES to help papa go through the coupons:
She takes her job very seriously:
"Hmmm...I think this is a good deal on diapers, mama."
