One Month

ONE MONTH - I have to first say that this is both a sad and a happy day. It's sad because we've lost two major icons today -- Farah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. I have to mention it because if we do manage to save these postings for Sophie to read one day when she's older, she'll know how significant this day was -- I grew up with Michael Jackson, and yes, have always been a HUGE fan (even despite all the controversy surrounding him) so I am still in shock and am glued to the news as I type this.

But this is a blog for happy moments and I will say that it's a happy day because Sophie is one month old today!! She's spent most of the day napping, which has allowed me to do some house cleaning and has made for a happy momma because of it :) I can't believe it's been one whole month since she entered our lives and I honestly can't remember what it was like without her. She's becoming such a big girl and I think she's starting to discover her hands and feet. They are moving at rapid pace, especially when she starts to fuss. Kris and I have learned to dodge her little fists because she throws them at us when she wants to make a point (that point usually being...feed me now!!!).

(For the record, I've spent the last 10 minutes trying to rotate the last 2 pictures and have failed, so sorry for them being vertical and not horizontal!!)

Ever since she was born we've wanted to pose her for pictures in her big flower pillow that Grandma Robin bought for her. We managed to accomplish this the other day and I love the way they turned out. Here are a few:

We hope you all have a great weekend! This will be our first time away from Sophie for a full day, as we have a big weekend for our friends' wedding. I'll send an update early next week to let you know how I handled it :)

  1. I still remember owning Thriller--in vinyl. Yikes, how quickly time passes, and you feel it even more so when childhood icons pass on. Sorry for the loss! But, as you noted, one month is quite the milestone! Continuing my infatuation with adult-sized baby items, can you imagine falling into an 8' X 8' flower pillow. Yum. Happy Monthday, Sophie!

  2. Happy 1 month birthday Sophie! Such a big girl and so cute! Kristi and Kris - hope you have a terrific time at the wedding. Getting out at this stage is such a treat! (Well frankly, it still is) I know it can be tough with mixed emotions, feeding logistics, everything but have fun! :) -Lisa Dillon
